Maths Riddles and Songs

The eensy weensy spider
The eensy weensy spider got a brand new watch. He didn't know how to read it so made a little rhyme. This is the rhyme he made to help him learn his way. You can learn it too if you sing this every day.
The long fast hand tics really really fast, it tells me how many seconds have already past. The short fat hand moves really really slow, it tells me how many hours are left to go. When the fat hand hits 12 I shout hooray because I can go outside and play.
The long skinny hand moves every sixty. When it moves it moves very briskly.

The eensy weensy spider got a brand new watch.
He didn't know how to read it so made a little rhyme.
This is the rhyme he made to help him learn his way.
And that’s how the eensy weensy spider learned to tell the time.

The Hands on the Clock

The hands on the clock spin all the way round, all the way round, all the way round. The hands on the clock spin all the way round....all day long.
The second hand spins really fast, really fast, really fast. The second hand spins really fast...60 seconds in a minute.
The short fat hand is really lazy, really lazy, really lazy. The short fat hand is really lazy...24 hours in a day.
The skinny hand is in between, in between, in between. The skinny hand is in between. 60 minutes in an hour.
There are 60 minutes in every hour, every hour, every hour. there are 60 minutes in a every hour... which is a very long time
There are 24 hours in a day, in a day, in a day there are 24 hour in a day.... which gets tiring.
There are 12 hours in half a day , in half a day, in half a day there are 12 hours in a day.... which is quicker than 24 hours.

The Arrows on the Clock
The arrows on the clock go round and round, round and round, round and round. The arrows on the clock go round and round all through the day.
The really fast hand goes tick tick tick, tick tick tick, tick tick tick. The really fast hand goes tick tick tick all through the day.
The medium hand goes slightly slower, slightly slower, slightly slower. The medium hand goes slightly slower all through the day.
The super fat hand goes really slow, really slow, really slow. The super fat hand goes really slow all through the day.
Some of the clocks are digital, digital, digital, digital, digital, digital, digital, digital, digital. Some of the clocks are digital, digital, digital every second of the day.
Some of the clocks can be analog, analog, analog, analog, analog, analog, analog, analog, analog. Some of the clocks can be analog, analog, analog every second of the day.
There’s 24 hours in the day, day, day, day, day, day, day, day, day. There’s 24 hours in the day, day, day all through the year.

All three arrows go round the clock, round the clock, round the clock.
All three arrows go round the clock all day long.

The skinny second hand goes tick tick tick, tick tick tick, tick tick tick.
The skinny second hand goes tick tick tick all day long.

The minute hand goes, slightly slower, slightly slower, slightly slower.
The skinny second hand goes tick tick tick all through the day.

The fat hour hand goes really slow, really slow, really slow.
The fat hour hand goes really slow all through the day.

Some of the clocks have three numbers, three numbers, three numbers.
Some of the clocks have three numbers they are called digital clocks.

Some of the clocks have twelve numbers, twelve numbers, twelve numbers.
Some of the clocks have twelve numbers they are called analog clocks.

There's sixty minutes in an hour, in an hour, in an hour. There's sixty minutes in an hour all through the year.

The Clock on the Bus
The clock on the bus goes tick tock tick, tick tock tick, tock tick tock. the arms on the clock goes round and round telling the hours and minutes.
The numbers pass on 5 times tables, 5 times tables, 5 times tables. There's 24 hour time and 12 hour time digital and analog. 60 minutes is one hour, is one hour, is one hour. And 60 seconds is 1 minute. It's not that hard once you try. The big hand stands for the minutes, for the minutes, for the minutes. The shorthand stands for hours and the big hand stands for the minutes and the big hand for the hours and the big hand stands for the minutes.
